As the others have mentioned, it can take quite a long time to build a new motor. For some it's the cost of the ordeal, for others it's the desire to obtain unique parts, which they then have to later order more unique parts that they should have ordered in the first place. Quite often we get orders for Tomei cams...then three weeks later the customer decides he wants Tomei cam gears....then head gasket....then ...you get the idea.If you brought your car to a shop and said "rebuild it with Nissan stuff" you could get it done in a week and a half if your machine shop isn't dragging their feet....and most of the good machine shops are slow because they're good and have a ton of work. I'm of the opinion now that unless you're going for really big numbers, just get a Nissan shortblock and be done in a week. :)
